Subtitle format

SRT - SubRip Subtitle is the most commonly used subtitle format. It is widely used and supported by most video players and subtitle editing programs. It is a simple text format that specifies the time and text for each subtitle. It is easy to create and edit, making it a popular choice for creating subtitles.

However, there are also lesser known subtitle formats such as WebVTT, TTML, DFXP, SSA, LRC, Subviewer and SBV. These formats offer additional features and flexibility, but not all video players and subtitle editing programs are compatible with them.
